Assistive devices have the greatest applicability in specific anatomical districts, therefore they may nicely complement each other. For instance, antigravity support systems are necessary to sustain the weight of the arm, while splinting works excellent at the level of wrist and palm stability. Finally, functional electrical stimulation may assist arm movement, however the best application is surely at the level of the fingers.
